Where we came from.
The ancestors of my family came from Moravia in the todays Czech Republic. After World War II in 1945 my family as many other German speaking families where banished from their hometowns in Czechoslovakia and I came with my parents and grandparents into the Federal Republic of Germany.
Moravia
The ancestors from my fathers side came from the area near Maehrisch - Trübau in the north and from my mothers side from the area near Nikolsburg in the southern part of Moravia.
Nikolsburg
The search for ancestors of the todays GEHR family in the Czech Republic is not very easy as many church records and documents are destroyed or missing and can not be found. Therefore the row of ancestors of the todays GEHR family is rather short.
