My Ancestors

Remarks

I am so sorry but English is not my native language.

For a better understanding of this ancestry report some general remarks. The ancestry report shows all ancestors from which a single person; with its siblings; descends in direct proximity of blood. This ancestry report shows all known relatives by blood of a person in a certain generation in the direct Rall family line. The ancestry report therefore starts with a person, in my case with me as (number 1) which represents the first generation. This person is followed by all ancestors. First both parents (number 2 and 3); than four gandparents (number 4 to 7); eight great-grandparents (number 8 to 15); sixteen great-great-grandparents (number 16 to 31); and so on.

The standard numbering scheme used in the Genalogic Sience today gives the person from which the genealogical tree starts, masculine or feminine, the number 1, the father number 2 and the mother number 3, the grandparents number 4 to 7 and so on. All masculine persons in a genealogical tree are marked with an even; all feminine persons with an odd number. The father of a person will be marked with the doubled number of this person and the mother with the doubled number plus 1. The father of person marked number 301 therefore is number 602 the mother number 603.

The marking by a number of each of the ancestors is essential. Even in a few generations we have to reckon hundreds and thousands of ancestors.

The doubling of the numbers of ancestors in each generation would lead to a number higher than the number of persons living at a certain time. In the XXX. generation this number would be appx. 536 milion of ancestors. This theoretical doubling of ancestors in each generation is corrected since the same persons can be found sooner or later several times as ancestors in a family tree. This creates an "ancestor loss" which we can find in this ancestry report also several times.

The writing of the surnames in former times was more or less casual and altered from time to time. Therefore I had to establish one standard spelling for the surnames in the family tree.
