The family branches of the Moralt family.

The family branches begin with Johann Adam Carolus MORALT, was a Kalkant at the Hof Kapelle in Mannheim. As a result of the Elector Carl Theodor's succession to the throne of Bavaria the Mannheim court as well as a large number of its court musicians were moving to Munich in 1778 and with them Adam MORALT and his family came to Munich. He is the ancestor of the artist family in Munich. His sons nearly all court musicians founded the different branches of the family:

From his first marriage with Anna Maria KRAMER (1743-1794) descent the children:

- Johann Wilhelm MORALT (*1774 in Mannheim), was a violinist. He went most probably to London very early and stayed there with his uncle Johann Wilhelm CRAMER the famous violinist and conductor, the brother of his mother. He was a member of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and registered till 1842. If there are any descedants is not known.

- Joseph MORALT (1775-1855), was a violinist and conductor. He studied with Peter Winter and was an excellent violinist. 1800 he was appointed concert master. With his brother Philipp he belonged 1811 to the founders of the so called musical academy "Musikalische Akademie" in Munich whose concerts he often conducted. Since 1827 he is conductor of the court orchestra (Hofmusik-Instrumental-Direktor). He deserved well of the famous Manheim-Munich strings tradition. With his brothers Johann Baptist, Jakob and Philipp he founded the so called Moralt-quartette, one of the first traveling quartettes. They made concert tours within Germany and to Switzerland, France and England.

- Johann Baptist MORALT (1777-1825), was a violinist and composer. He studied with the instrumental director of the court orchestra Karl Cannabich and with Joseph Graetz. He was 21 years old when he became as violinist court musician. His compositions, besides others also some symphonies which remind of Joseph Hayden where performed mainly in the "Musikalische Akademie". His quartette for flute, violin, viola and cello from 1815 is still performed today.

- Jakob MORALT (1780-1820), he's the twin brother of Philipp MORALT, he was an excellent musician on the viola. He was a member of the Hof Kapelle and of the "Musikalische Akademie" in Munich. With his brothers Joseph, Johann Baptist, and Philipp, he founded the so called Moralt-quartette.

- Philipp MORALT (1780-1830), the twin brother of Jakob MORALT, was a cellist and became a court- and chamber musician. He was often on concert tours in Germany and Europe. In 1824 he left the "Musikalische Akademie" and became conductor of the orchestra of the "Gesellschaft Frohsinn". With his brothers Joseph, Johann Baptist, and Philipp, he founded the so called Moralt-quartette.

- Georg MORALT (1781-1818), he played the viola and became a member of the Hof Kapelle. With his brothers Joseph, Johann Baptist, and Philipp, he played in the so called Moralt-quartette.

- Johann Alois MORALT (1785-1858), pianist and composer. He went to London and lived there till his death. He married in 1812 in London the musician Sophia Justina CORRI, the widow of the musician Jan Ladislav Dussek. If there are any descedants is not known.

From his second marriage with Maria Walburga SACHENBACHER (1796-1826), the daughter of a school teacher, descent the children:

- Clementine MORALT (1797-1845), she was an altist and royal court singer. Sha married the royal court singer Giulio (Julius) PELLEGRINI (1806-1858).

- Karl MORALT (1800-1853), he was a contrabassist and member of the Hof Kapelle.

- Josef MORALT (1802-1858), he became court music curator.

- Friedrich MORALT (1805-1869) he was a bugler and member of the Hof Kapelle.

- Anton MORALT (1807-1862) he became bugler and double bassist in the Hof Kapelle.
