First Generation

1. Sebastian MORALT was born about 1680 in Unknown.

Family name also: "MURALT; MURALTER oder MORALTER".

The family goes back on Capitanei in Locarno, they were vasalls of the Emperor and the Bishop of Como. They got besides others the Towers of Muralto as feudal tenure and they named themselves after them. They emigrated due to their protestant religion to Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
